My first modest swimsuit was purchased after years of make-shift swimwear. I went from bikini to one-piece to t-shirt and skirt over one-piece. My swimsuits either fell, revealed too much or weighed me down. This swimsuit was different. It had a high neckline and slimming fabric that accentuated my waist. I was pleased with the floral print, especially as it matched the spring environment. The bottoms were a mid-thigh skirt with attached leggings. This swimsuit was definitely covered, and I didn’t know if that was me.
But here I was, on the beach, wearing my first modest swimsuit. Brave, right? I glanced at my friends’ tiny suits, wondering whether they felt comfortable or insecure. We jumped into the ocean together and hit the waves, feeling the breeze carry our bodies through the clear, blue water. All of a sudden a huge wave broke out. We swam to catch it, but fell a bit short. The wave pushed us ashore. I felt a bit winded. My friends, on the other hand, were fixing their suits, trying to avoid flashing the entire beach. That was when I realized: my swimsuit had not failed.
Thank goodness we don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort or hold. Modest swimsuits are the way to go for all of your outdoor needs.
